FOB QUOTATION
For landed price, which would
include VAT at 15%, Import Duty at 10%, and local port clearance
costs, please call us or an appointed shipping agent (see Useful
Links above) as daily
fluctuations between the Yen, Sterling and the Dollar in the
international money markets affect the cost of your purchase/s. An
exact figure can only be provided on the day of arrival at the port
of destination via your shipping agent. Any other estimate provided
otherwise prior to arrival is for guide purposes only.
PAYMENT
Payment for vehicles is as follows: 10% securing deposit of the FOB
total and the FOB balance paid prior to shipment . We cannot ship
unless full payment has been received. All documents necessary for
importation, clearance, collection and registration in the UK will
be forwarded by priority, registered mail from Japan.
SHIPMENT
Shipping time from Japan (Yokohama) to the UK (Southampton or
Newcastle) is generally about 4 weeks. An update from the shippers
and ourselves will always be available. Prior to arrival the
respective shipping line will inform you of the estimated date of
arrival. All shipping charges, UK VAT and Duties are then payable
via the appointed shipping agent who will be clearing the vehicle/s
for you. They will request a copy of the invoice, issued by the
exporter in Japan, the original B/L (Bill of Lading) and a
copy of the Japanese and English deregistration document and proof
of identity in the form of a household utility bill. For private or
trade importers, this process can be undertaken by ourselves on your
behalf for a small fee. Feel free to ask.
INLAND TRANSPORTATION
Once cleared, you must collect your vehicle/s within 7 days or
storage will incur on a daily basis. For multiple units a
transporter is recommended, details of which are available as per
our USEFUL LINKS page. For collection and delivery for
private importers, this process can be undertaken by
ourselves on your behalf for a small fee. Feel free to ask.
ESVA, MODEL REPORTS, MOT REQUIREMENTS, AND REGISTRATION
Any vehicle older than 10-yearsis exempt from the ESVA, SVA or
Model Reports. As of April 2009, legislation on imports are again
relaxing so importation will become much more streamlined. VOSA is
an excellent source of up to date news on this issue. |
